Sew Bee Mine at Phoenixville Farmers Market

I'm so happy that Sew Bee Mine is a smashing success already. I've been out and about three times now with a booth, and there is great interest and sales are plentiful.

This coming Saturday December 19th, at The Phoenixille Farmers Market is the last event before Christmas for Sew Bee Mine. This winter will be spent creating more inventory for the spring.

Sew Bee Mine Booth Number 9 Kimberton Waldorf School Craft Show 2015

The Kimberton Waldorf School Craft Show has been part of my and my children's life since they were toddlers. I've participated in it as a vendor off and on over the years making and selling various things, mostly dolls! and now with Sew Bee Mine. But whether a vendor or not I have never missed actually going to it and finding beautiful handmade gifts from so many talented people.

Last night was the preview and it went really well, saw many existing friends and met some new ones and sales were brisk.

A comment that keeps coming up about the aprons and potholders is that they are too beautiful to wear or use! Really having to convince people that you've got to look good when you are cooking! And everything can go into the washer and dryer.

I'm off this morning for a full day, and really looking forward to it.

Grocery Bags from Sew Bee Mine

Working on grocery bags for the past couple of days. They are lined and the straps and bottom reinforced. These are created mostly from drapes and tablecloths, some sheets for lining.

It's so much fun to be out gathering fabrics and mixing them up to create one of a kind aprons.

Vintage Dress Form

I went scouting today for a vintage dress form to display aprons on. They are few and far between and often quite expensive. Fortunately one popped up at Lulu's Vintage Flea Market! There I was reuniting with two long lost friends My Sister and I who had a booth there, and while catching up with each other I spied a dress form in the back of their booth EXACTLY what I was looking for.
Here she is wearing the apron I made yesterday!

Getting Started with Sew Bee Mine

I've been scouring ebay for vintage quilts, embroideries, appliqués etc to add to my stockpile of inspirational fabrics for aprons and potholders.

So far, I've got a few potholders in progress, using an old quilt for the squares, patching them up here and there.......and adding the heat resistant fabric to them. They are going to be very thick and chunky!
